How clever I am, so very cunning I can be! Yet endlessly stupid, I thought they would not see. The mask I created, has been torn away. All my lies exposed, nothing more I can say.
Too late to say sorry, it is too late to explain, for I have deceived them, no more trust remains.
"It is the easiest way", "They will never know". truly I am a fool, what was I afraid to show?
This is a poem I wrote a few days ago. I do not think I need to describe what it is about, it is pretty obvious.
And for once it is a poem that is not about me! However it could very well be. I have told more then my share of lies during my lifetime, and if these would be exposed then I fear that the poem would very well reflect what situation I would find myself in...
Please forgive me if these next few lines of praise for your poem don't make any sense to you [still mostly asleep].
For one, I love how precise the words you choose are. It's very well written. And since I've been working on a play dealing with Shakespeare's work when I read this I read it as Hamlet spoke his "To be or not to be " monologue. xDD
Thank you very much! Do not worry, I understand you just fine. I suppose it is a very good thing when my works starts making you think about Shakespeare!
